The Rolex Giraglia will start, according to tradition, with this super classic Sanremo - Saint Tropez on Friday 11.
Then 13, 14 and 15 are coastal racing days off the Gulf of Saint Tropez, while Wednesday 16 sees the start of the offshore race on the classic 243-mile triangular route from Saint Tropez to Genoa via the Giraglia Rock.
Rolex Giraglia week culminates with the prize-giving ceremony on Saturday 19 June at the Club’s headquarters.
The organizing club, Yacht Club Italiano, wish to remind you how the offshore race Saint Tropez - Giraglia - Genoa has now become a “must-do” within the context of a sailing tradition that Italy and France have shared since 1953.
Rolex Giraglia has a well-deserved place in the iconic international offshore regattas, on a par with the Rolex Sydney Hobart, the Rolex Middle Sea Race and the Rolex Fastnet.
We, therefore, invite you to give serious consideration to racing the Offshore Race that will start at noon-time on Wednesday 10th June 2020, heading for the famous rock on the northern-most tip of Corsica to finish at Yacht Club Italiano’s historical clubhouse.
No doubt the huge success met by the Rolex Giraglia, with an ever-increasing number of entries over the years, is also attributable to its thick agenda of sporting events throughout the week, such as the Sanremo - Saint.Tropez and inshore racing in the Gulf of Saint Tropez.
More than that, effective this year the organizing authorities may consider racing the Offshore Classic as a pre-condition to gain access to certain benefits which may be envisaged in the future by the Notice of Race, such as mooring availability, entry fees, quotas on number of entries, etc, in the event a selective approach was to appear necessary due to organizational reasons.
